Can my computer handle editing HD video from an HD camcorder?

Ok so here are my specs...

Intel Pentium Dual Core clocked @ 2.0GHz (May possibly upgrade to 2.2GHz.)
nVidia GeForce 7100 (Yes, that's what I'm worried about.)
2GB of RAM (May possibly upgrade to 4GB.)

I'm planning on getting a new camcorder that can record at 1080p HD. Will this computer allow me to transfer video from the camcorder and edit it? Also, if the camcorder does not have removable flash memory, like an SD card for example, then does that mean I have to have a firewire port on my computer? Because I do not have one on my computer. And if I do need a firewire port, is there any way I can get a firewire adapter or something like that for my computer?

your computer could do it, but it would be slow. The processor isn’t bad, but i would upgrade the graphics card if you want high response time. You don’t need a firewire port, you can use a high speed card reader, Digital Concepts are good ones that hook up to a USB.
