Good Beginner Level HD Camcorder?
Okay, I want to get a small, below ,000 camcorder. i want it to be an HD camcorder, not record on mini dvds(or full size, for that matter) and to be small and lightweight. I saw one, and I think Sanyo or somebody showcased it at E3. I want one that is like that. Or that one(depending on how much it is - anybody know)
Help me. I would prefer it to be under 0, but absolutley no more than 0. And, not a huge tv-production camera either. A small one for things like film festivals, youtube, and other stuff.
Thanks for the help.
Okay, when I say no more than 0, i mean for the camera alone. I will buy other stuff, like a tripod, good batteries, and a mic. I AM NOT BUYING LENSES. And if somebody knows that new sanyo camera, please tell me.

fuck hd, it is over rated unless you are using true HD, HDV and that compressed HD sucks. It isn’t worth the money, get yourself a decent 3CCD camera..
Don’t sp[end your entire budget on the camcorder…
Take a look at the Canon HD20 or HV30. DV and HDV, 24p, 30p, 1080i, 60i. Or the Sony HDR-HC7 or HC9 (no progressive frames, but SuperNightShot and SmoothSlowMotion). Your computer will need a firewire port. Transferring video for editing over USB will not work.
All four have a mic jack, headphone jack, and manual audio control. You also want to get a tripod, some mics, a camera bracket to mount a mic… and get a rechargeable high capacity battery or 2. And a sturdy case. May some lenses (wide angle, 2x tele).
Sony HDR-SR12- record 1080p and has a 120GB HDD. AVCHD too!
