help rendering High Quality videos with Sony Vegas Pro 8?

i make video's and post them all over the internet but mostly on "youtube.com" or "Heavy.com" and wen i render video's in Mp4 format. it comes out good on youtube but the sound is kinda mono toned.
but on heavy.com its video and sound quality are both really crappy.
i have a jvc hybrid professional HD camcorder. & edit with sony vegas pro 8,
can anyone help me?
and give me a quick tutorial on what i should render my videos (format,video quality & size, and help be with higher quality sound)
