How Can i get footage from my SDHC card onto my computer?

I'm using a Panasonic AG-HMC40 HD camcorder, and i cannot get the file from my SDHC card to my computer. The file types are .cpi and .mts and neither will upload into my windows computer, or Adobe Premiere Pro cs3 to edit with. I bought this because i thought itd be easy to transfer directly from my card, and i do not want to lose any quality by downloading all of these third party softwares. Can anyone instruct me how?

Open the sd card in windows explorer, then select the files, and copy to your computer. You cannot natively use that format in CS3, you will have to convert them> what do you do with the videos, if you are putting them on DVD then there is no problem witht he conversion as the video will be down graded to SD you cannot play HD with a dvd. if you are posting it onto you tube then again in all the conversion you will loose much of the quality.

If you have decided to go on the Blue ray route then you may as well spend a few extra $ and upgrade to CS4 which will process the video.

    Good luck
