Im looking for a camcorder that has manual audio levels as well as exposure and focus controll. Any Ideas?

Im on the furge of starting my course(motion picture production) and need a new camcorder. I would like to buy a realy decent one like the canon XL2 or a decent HD Version, but unfortunately i dont have that kind of money at the moment, i need to pay for my studies aswell. I need a camcorder with at least these 2 features:
* it needs manual audio levels
* and also exposure and focus controll

Please help!

    CANON GL2! I got one off of eBay for $1500, its a decent cam, has manual audio levels as well as exposure and focus, with shutter speeds down to 1/8 sec (this is a great option). Also, its not a shoulder mounted cam, but its not small either, so you wont get mistaken for an amateur. There are HD cams for this price as well, but consider the hassles of also having to upgrade your computer and software to accomodate HD editing. Also, the canon gl2 has a 20x optical zoom lens, which is great for getting film like DOF with aperture fully open. Hope this helps!
