Is Apple's Final Cut worth it or not?

Now, I am an experienced filmmaker, and I am looking to expand into bigger and better things. I have already purchased an HD camcorder (Sony HDR-SR11) and an external mic. Now the question is what to edit my movies in. I have been working with Pinnacle Studio 11 for the past year or two, and am very comfortable with it's format. I have been eyeballing a Mac for editing, but am not sure I want to take the leap or not. I cannot work with iMovie, as it is the basic equivalent of Windows Movie Maker, so Final Cut looks to be the best bet at what I am trying to achieve, but I'm hesitant on choosing it to be the program I will work with.

I guess what I'm asking is whether or not I should invest in Final Cut, or search for an alternative on a PC, such as maybe Pinnacle 12? Also, what will I lose and gain with making the change from Pinnacle to Final Cut?
