What's a good inexpensive camera for short films?

My friends and I want to make short films and I was look for any suggestions on any good cameras that can shoot in HD. I noticed a lot of people I know have been filming with a Canon 7D, but way too expensive. I'm looking to spend anything around 0. Iwas thinking of getting a Kodak z950. I really want to get a digital camera because the last camcorder I had was too noisy and would be noticable in our movies. Any good suggestions? I need this asap.

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FH3 Digital Camera is worth a look, it has HD video and costs about $170.

    Hope this helps.

Don’t use a digital snap shot camera. Buy a camcorder. So resubmit your question in the "camcorder" section of Yahoo Answers, for the most productive answers. I don’t think trying to get a digital snap shoot camera to double for a camcorder is the most productive way to go about this.
But I would look into the Fuji line if you are determined to go this route.

And it wouldn’t hurt to use that 800 number to get the techs at Fuji for their opinion also.

First thing to remember you won’t get real quality for your budget. These things are expensive to make so they’re expensive to buy. Shoot higher and yes, in the camcorder section.
