What's an easy-to-use, low cost video editing software for a beginner? Needs to be AVCHD.?

Just bought a lower end HD camcorder (Sony HDR-CX100). I'm a beginner and all I want to do is edit the footage and burn to a DVD. The software I'm seeing is way beyond my needs. Please advise something easy to use and lower cost. Thanks!

there is no easy or free ware for AVCHD. Sony charges a stiff license fee to software developers, so they can’t afford to put AVCHD functions in inexpensive editors. Probably the best approach is to get a Sony Vegas version that has HD, see http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro/compare

    Hey Eric G,

I would highly recommend trakAxPC Pro. It’s a new audio/video editing software that will allow to edit and mix any combination of audio, video and photos. There is a free and paid version available.

It is aimed at novice user but has all the features of a professional high-end software. You can also directly upload your final video mix to YouTube through the application. You can then just use the software on your computer to burn it to a dvd.

You can check out the features page here: http://www.trakax.com/software/pc/featur…

    Hope this is helpful
