Why wont my Insignia HD camcorder charge off any other charger than the one that it came with?

I lost the one it originally came with, but i have other wall chargers that fit it. But when I plug it in to them, the red light flashes 3 times and turns solid, but doesn't charge.

    STOP using other chargers on it! The VOLTAGE, AMPHERAGE, and WIRING / POLARITY are quite different among all your charging devices!

    Look at the labels on all the wall wart chargers you have. Look for "OUTPUT" data for voltage and amps. Quite different! Then there’s the polarity issue …

    ANYWAY, contact your Insignia dealer for a GENUINE replacement cord. Or, if you are in the market for a second battery pack, consider a separate battery charger built for your packs.
